Performers constantly re-configured in a fusion of music, movement and lighting.

Staged at Hackney’s Round Chapel in East London, Flux was built around a theme of life and what lies beyond. With the music memorised by an orchestra of daring musicians, they were free to move throughout the space – changing formation, transforming the set, and creating an up-close concert experience of heightened emotion.

The project team included movement director Imogen Knight, lighting designer Joshua Pharo and conductor Maxime Tortelier. A stark, minimalist soundworld was curated, featuring music by Gérard Grisey, Pierre Jalbert, Jean Sibelius, Pēteris Vasks and John Luther Adams.
